Once upon a time there was a young ambitious man working at a respected local car dealership in the municipality of Ølberg, Sola. He set his goal to break free and start his own firm. The extra income came in very handy, and every penny was handled carefully.
"Quality means doing it right the first time!"
1979 was the year for Arne Hellestø - he established his own business in his double garage at home. And since then, the success and growth of the new car dealer has been a fact.
Today, the car dealer at Sola offers four niche brands of high quality: Saab, Subaru, MG Rover and Land Rover. In 1984 we got the contractual import agreement to Saab. In 1988, Subaru became a part of the offer, in January 2004 MG Rover, and in January 2010 Land Rover came to our store. This is a conscious effort to attract young and discerning customer groups.
The business idea is the same today as it was at its inception in 1979: to combine the sales of new cars, sales of used cars and car rental. These offers combined captures fluctuations in the market, and Hellestø has grown steadily over the years. But there is no intention to be a huge dealership. Hellestø will always be a small, efficient and flexible company that can handle the changes.
We work by two simple teachings about service and quality. Service is to provide a bit more than expected. Caring is often about the small but important things. Quality means doing it right the first time. Complaints are expensive and unnecessary.
